How to install a Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System under your sink

The PURICOM 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis System with Pump is designed to remove large particles, fine sediments, bacteria, viruses and metals from your water, while improving the taste, colour and odour.

PURICOM 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System, 50GPD DOW FILMTEC Membrane, With Pump

The system fits nicely under a standard kitchen sink - it can stand alone or be mounted to the wall. It features a 50GPD FILMTEC Reverse Osmosis membrane and a booster pump for constant, smooth operation even in the event of unstable water pressure. Installation is simple and all parts necessary for installation are included in the kit.

The system can produce up to 190 litres (50 gallons) of filtered water per day, and eliminates +/-99% of harmful contaminants, providing you with high quality, fresh and purified drinking water.

*Please note: RO systems with a pump are recommended if water pressure is below 2.5 bar, if your water pressure is above 2.5 bar, we recommend an RO system without a pump.

What are the 5 stages of the RO system?

Stage 1:
Sediment pre-filter (5 Micron), removes large particles from the water that is visible to the human eye, including mud, rust, dirt, floating particulates or any other large particles

Stage 2:
Activated carbon pre-filter reduces teh concentration of ozone, lime pesticides and chlorine

Stage 3:
Carbon block pre-filter reduces fine sediment, chlorine taste and the concentration of heavy metals such as lead and copper

Stage 4:
The RO membrane is what removes particles that are not visible to the human eye, such as bacteria, viruses, pesticides, herbicides, parasites and metals. The membrane is continuously flushed in order to prevent blockage and build-up of bacteria on the membrane

Stage 5:
Inline GAC filter, a filter with granular activated carbon (GAC) that removes certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from the water. The inline GAC filter is particularly useful to remove chemicals that give objectionable odours or tastes to water

How do you install the Reverse Osmosis water filter system?

Step 1: Remove and unclip the RO membrane housing to insert the RO membrane. The side with the rubber should face the flow of the water. Clip back in

Step 2: Attach your main line to the last filter on the right, and place the red pin over

Step 3: Remove the lock nut from the drain line (or brine line), insert the provided pipe, with the nut, into the flush valve of the drain line. The other end of the pipe goes into the saddle clamp (with the insert and locknut)

Connect the pipe from the post carbon to the pressure tank:

Step 5: Remove the lock nut and add insert in the pipe and place it in the shut off valve. Screw shut off valve on the pressure tank (blue part is to open and close)

Step 6: Connect pipe to post carbon: Take out the plug, insert the pipe and pull back to lock, and then lock in the red pin

Connect the tap:

Step 7: Remove nut from the tap, and place the silver fitting, spaces and washes onto the faucet, and screw the nut on. Place the lock nut over the pipe, as well as the fitting. Drill a hole in your counter and place the faucet through it. Then place the insert into the pipe. Push it into the faucet and tighten the lock nut
